Cedar Mountain Fence Company is the leading residential fence company in Illinois. Below is a list of some of our most frequently asked questions. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have additional questions. Our team members would be happy to help.
What type of fence should I choose?
Your fence type will depend on your needs, budget, and personal preferences. Also, it depends if you are part of a Home Owners Association that requires a specific type of fence. Some popular options include wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminum, and wrought iron.
What type of fence material do you offer?
We offer cedar, vinyl, aluminum, and chainlink fences. Every fence we do is custom fabricated and installed to fit your needs. Whether you want a natural cedar privacy fence or an eloquent vinyl picket fence, we have it in our yard. When you schedule your fence estimate, our team will explain each material's pros and cons and determine what will work best for you and your family.
How much will a fence cost?
The cost of a fence can vary greatly depending on the installation's material, height, length, and complexity. Our average fence project costs $7,000, but we do fence projects as low as $3500 and as high as $20,000+. It's best to get a few quotes from different fence companies to estimate your specific needs accurately.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, check, or credit cards. We also offer financing through EnerbankUSA. Click here to learn more about fence financing.
When is payment due for our fence installation?
Once you decide to proceed with your fence installation with Cedar Moutain Fence Company, we require a 30% deposit to get you on our schedule and begin the fencing process. The remaining balance for the fence will be due upon completion, allowing you to review everything and pay the crew or call the office.
Do I need a fence permit to install a fence?
In many cases, you will need a permit to install a fence. The requirements vary depending on your location, so it's best to check with your local village or homeowners association. Our office and fence estimators will help you along the way, so there is no need to try and figure all that out on your own.
What other documents or paperwork is required?
The survey plot is one of the most important documents regarding your fence installation. Most of the time, you can find this document in your closing papers. If you can't find your survey, you can call the village to see if they have a copy, but if they don't, you will have to hire a survey company to do one for you. The survey outlines your property and lets us ensure your fence is installed within your property lines. Also, most villages and Home Owner Associations require you to have a survey to apply for the fence permit.
Do I have to be home for the fence installation?
In short, we do not require the homeowner to be home during their fence installation. At this point in the process, we have everything we need and are ready to install the fence. If the fence crew has questions, they will contact you via phone. We only require that the fence crew have access to running water and electricity on that day.
How long will a fence last?
The lifespan of a fence can vary greatly depending on the material and maintenance. A well-maintained wood fence can last up to 20 years, while a vinyl or aluminum fence can last up to 50 years. But not all fence companies and fence material is created equal, so it is crucial to make sure you research and trust the fence company you decide to go with.
How do I maintain my fence?
The maintenance required for your fence will depend on the material. Wood fences may need to be stained or painted every few years, while vinyl and aluminum fences require little to no maintenance.
